Dr.
Vendeland graduated from the New York College of
Osteopathic Medicine in 1995 and completed an Internship and Residency
in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Gynecologic Surgery in the Bi-County/Henry
Ford Hospital System in Detroit, Michigan. She is Board Certified in
Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American Medical
Association, American Osteopathic Association, American College of
Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as the American College
of Obstetrics and Gynecologists.
She is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, where she worked as a Registered Nurse
in labor and delivery prior to attending medical school. She also worked as
a Director of a Family Planning clinic, which served a largely teen
population.
Dr. Vendeland is a popular invited speaker for several pharmaceutical
companies providing education for other Physicians on the topics of Birth
Control Options, Hormone Therapy, Menopause, Osteoporosis and other Women's
Health Issues. She has also lectured for the University of Oklahoma School
of Pharmacy which provides continuing education for Pharmacists nationwide.
She has published her research in the Journal of Reproductive Medicine.
In 2003, she served as the Chairman of the department of Obstetrics and
Gynecology at Community Hospital in New Port Richey and was awarded the
Chaplains Award there for providing exceptional care for both patients'
physical and spiritual needs.
She is a Clinical Investigator for FDA Clinical drug trials and her
participation in various women's health studies helps improve the quality of
care for all of her patients. This provides access to the most currently
available treatment options, which is an advantage that few other local
practices can offer. For more information about participating in a clinical
study, visit
Suncoast
Clinical Research.
In Dr. Vendeland's free time, she enjoys gardening, swimming, traveling,
cooking, and sewing, and is an avid HGTV and Food Network fan.
The Cohen-Vendeland home has become
incredibly busier with the birth of baby Logan Merrit Cohen
Vendeland in December of 2006! Surrounded and supported by our
wonderful midwifes and friend, Dr. Wanda Torres, Dr. Vendeland gave
birth to her miracle daughter.
Her birth closed a very long and painful chapter of infertility for
Dr. Vendeland and she welcomes the opportunity to help other women
connect with resources to help them fulfill their dreams of
motherhood.
